  1. Use Azure AD Application Proxy to publish the RDP endpoint. I had been thinking about simply publishing the RDP endpoint with Azure AD Application Proxy. It’s a capability that is licensed through Azure AD Premium P1 (or P2, respectively) and it allows for intelligent and somewhat clean exposure of internal services.
  2. Additionally, Azure Bastion provides integrated connectivity using RDP/SSH directly from your browser and the Azure portal experience. You don’t need an additional client, agent, or piece of software. Deployment of Azure Bastion is per virtual network, thus, once deployed in a virtual network, it is available to all VMs in the virtual network.

First, it would be good to list out the main workflows and requirements these devices will need to handle. Not all thin clients are created alike. I've used WYSE and HP laptop thin clients in the past and in that situation it was not worth it. For that past organization, it gave little benefit for the same cost as a regular laptop. If you have a chance to demo thin clients before you buy, I highly recommend it if you still see value in thin terminals.
